Helen "Dianne" Schubert - Obituary

orn on January 25, 1943, in Washington, DC to the late Helen (Schumm) Douglass and Paul V. Douglass, Helen “Dianne” Schubert died on Monday, March 27, 2023. Dianne was preceded in death by her sister, Marian DiLorenzo, as well as her Aunt Marian and Uncle Bill Hamby. Helen “Dianne” Schubert, the beloved mother of Paul Schubert, Esq. (Heidi) and Robert Schubert (LtCol, USMC, Retired) sister to Paul F. Douglass (Becky), Ann Cincotta-Altruz (Allan) and Joan M. Harrington (Dennis) and sister-in-law to Henry DiLorenzo. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives and friends. Dianne grew up in a loving home with her parents and siblings. While she grew up in the D.C. area, she lived in Maine, Massachusetts and Louisiana. She attended both St. Mary’s Elementary School and Immaculate Conception High School, in Washington, D.C. She raised two sons, who both served in the military and overseas for which she was so proud. Dianne was an avid and talented artist who spent her free time painting flowers and beautiful sceneries. A cousin shared that he asked Dianne to paint something “cool” on his demolition derby car, only to find she had painted flowers all over the car. She had a great sense of humor and made everyone around her laugh. Her bright blue eyes, kind and thoughtful heart will be missed. Relatives and friends are invited to Diane’s Life Celebration on Sunday, April 2, 2023 from 9 a.m. until the start of the funeral at 10 a.m. at the KALAS FUNERAL HOME & CREMATORY, 6160 Oxon Hill Rd., Oxon Hill, MD.
